A lovely Antique Vintage Victorian / Edwardian Style Reclining Armchair circa 1900/1920. Solid oak frame with barley twist features. The seat slides forward and the back reclines into a nice easy chair to sit and relax in - the back doesn't have fixed slots / positions to'recline' into like some chairs do, the back on these chairs can recline to wherever you feel comfortable. The armchairs are in very good condition for their age.
No woodworm, no breaks, no repairs. Marks and signs of age are present as to be expected but they are structurally sound.
The armrests could perhaps do with being re-varnished although we have been happy with them as they are for years. B oth armchairs were fitted with new springs on the base, new yellow foam and a layer of wadding then re-upholstered with quality upholstery fabric in mid-1990s. Cushions have piping detail and back cushions have a zipped cover. Slight signs of flattening on seat of armchairs. From a Pet and Smoke Free Home. Height (from floor to top of the chair back when upright): 90cm. Depth (including back when in upright position): 78cm. The seat is 56cm deep and 44cm off the floor. All images are taken in natural daylight and are not digitally enhanced. The window behind has resulted in some bright patches on the photos, please compare all photos.
