Vintage Staffordshire wash basin sink c1880 Original antique
Gorgeous antique hand wash basin, bought in France but made in Staffordhire. This was usual for better quality bathrooms as the French ceramics of the era were much cheaper and not so well made from the less durable French clay. This is intended to be wall hung with a single tap. I had planned to use an ornate brass barrel tap plumbed to the hot supply in our new downstairs cloakroom. There is a small mark on the rim, which may indicate previous professional restoration work, please see second to last photo. One of the soap dishes has been broken off and glued back rather messily. This could easily be removed and properly restored if required although personaly, I like to see a piece's history, scars and all. Please see photos for full details of condition.
Measurements: The wall plate is 47cms wide x 45cms tall from the top of the basin. The overall depth of the basin is 16cms and it protrudes from the wall by 30cms.
